Luke shares black history through children's literature
U.S. Air Force Airman Sheyenne Webber, 56th Judge Advocate military justice paralegal, listens as Staff Sgt. Reginald Dean, 56th Component Maintenance Squadron weapon systems coordinator, reads to children and their parents during a Black History Month story-time event at the base library, Feb. 21, 2024, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. The book was “Kenya’s Art”, written by Lisa Trice, featuring a character named Kenya who becomes inspired to use her old, broken toys and other items to make art with her family. Events like this contribute to advancing quality of life for Airmen and their families through increasing education and inclusivity for service members’ spouses and children.
