Col. Robert E. Webb is the Vice Commander, 56th Fighter Wing, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz. The wing's mission is to train the world's greatest F-16 pilots and maintainers while deploying mission-ready warfighters. As part of Air Education and Training Command, and home to more than 135 F-16 aircraft and 24 squadrons, the 56th is the largest fighter wing in the U.S. Air Force and graduates more than 300 F-16 pilots and 500 crew chiefs annually. The wing oversees the Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field and is steward of the Barry M. Goldwater Range, a military training range spanning more than 1.7 million acres of Sonoran desert.

Colonel Webb was commissioned an Ensign in 1988 from the U.S. Naval Academy. He was an instructor pilot in the A-4 and F/A-18, completing combat deployments on the USS America (CV-66) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). After a pilot exchange tour, he transferred to the Air Force in 2002 and has flown the F-16 in several operational and training assignments. He is a command pilot with more than 4,870 flight hours, 580 carrier landings and over 750 combat hours. Additionally, he served as Commander of the 332nd Expeditionary Operations Support Squadron, Balad Air Base, Iraq.
