Maj. James E. Schieser is the Commander, 56th Maintenance Operations Squadron, Luke Air Force Base, Ariz.

Major Schieser graduated from Cleveland State University in 2001 and earned his commission through AFROTC Detachment 630 at Kent State University, Ohio. He began his career as an aircraft maintenance officer at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. During this time he led the USAFE and CENTAF Centralized Intermediate Repair Facility for C-130 T-56-7/-15 engines for the entire Southwest Asian and European operations. The major has also served as a flight commander at Osan Air Base, South Korea, and OIC for the 41st Helicopter Maintenance and 74th Aircraft Maintenance units at Moody AFB, Ga. While at Moody AFB he deployed to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, supporting the first joint Air Force combat search and rescue and U.S. Army medical evacuation mission; Balad Air Base, Iraq, leading the largest Air Force combat search and rescue maintenance operation since Vietnam; and Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, supporting A-10 close air support missions.

In 2009 Major Schieser was selected for the Logistics Career Broadening Program at Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga., where he was the lead career broadening officer for 12 officers assigned to the program. His rotations included 402nd Electronics Maintenance Group, SOF sustainment and modernization for AC-130 Gunships, and C-130 supply chain management. Prior to his current assignment, he was the executive officer to the Commander, 402nd Maintenance Wing, Warner Robins ALC, Robins AFB, Ga.
