The 56th Mission Support Group sustains the F-16 Fighting Falcon, provides for the community, and delivers responsive combat support anytime, anywhere. The six squadrons of the group, 1,965 members strong, perform the critical installation management that helps keep the wing flying. These men and women are sortie generators. They serve more than 94,000 people including active duty, reserve, civilians, students, family and retirees. The base has approximately $396 million in land, building and real property including 4,200 acres at Luke AFB and 1.7 million acres at the Barry M. Goldwater range complex.
56TH COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON
Mission: Provide, operate, and maintain model communications and information resources to facilitate training the world's finest F-16 pilots while supporting mobile preparedness in peace and war.

The 56th Communications Squadron provides communications and information capabilities supporting Luke Air Force Base. Keeping an eye on transforming the Air Force mission to better, faster and less expensive methods of operation, the 56th Communications Squadron continuously plans for programming of acquisition and installation of the latest available technologies enhancing Luke's primary missions of training fighter pilots and combat ready crew chiefs. They manage and oversee compliance to Air Force standards for all Luke AFB information technology including small computers, the base area network, and the base telephone switch. Acting as the eyes and ears for the fighter wing commander on all communications and information matters, the 56th Communications Squadron leverages information technology for more effective fighter operations, maintenance, support and medical operations.

The 56th Security Forces Squadron is responsible for the security of assigned and transient aircraft, law enforcement services, installation security, personnel security, Combat Arms Training for all Air Expeditionary Forces assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing, and deployment of over 150 personnel to the Air Expeditionary Forces.
56TH LOGISTICS READINESS SQUADRON
Mission: Provide responsive logistics support to train the world's finest F-16 pilots and crew chiefs and rapidly move combat ready forces in support of expeditionary operations worldwide

Lt. Col. Erin C. Cluff
The 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron operates in various locations throughout the base and is made up of several flights. The fuels management flight is responsible for storing and issuing over 48 million gallons of aviation fuel annually to the Air Force's largest Fighter Wing. The Resource Control Center, a 24-hour operation, maintains command and control of all fuels assets. The Materiel Management Flight provides 24-hour, 7-day-a-week customer service and supply support to the largest fighter wing supply account in the Air Force with 31,000 line items located in seven warehouses. The 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron also maintains 56th and 944th Fighter Wings' F-16 mobility readiness spares packages and supports dissimilar aircraft training kit deployments for the 56th FW. The readiness flight is responsible for ensuring the 56th FW is a deployable entity for Air Education and Training Command.
56TH CIVIL ENGINEER SQUADRON

The 56th Civil Engineer Squadron includes fire protection, explosive ordnance disposal, readiness, design and construction, environmental programs, family housing and operations and maintenance of Luke and the 1.7 million acre Barry M. Goldwater Range. The fire flight, along with our readiness flight, honors mutual-aid agreements with the surrounding communities. The EOD flight and environmental flight continue to lead the way with new and diverse programs that will enhance not only Luke, but also the community that surrounds it. Other areas in the squadron include the housing flight, which assists all personnel with their housing needs, the engineering flight which works strategic planning issues for the future development of the base and oversees the design, construction and repair of base assets by accomplished by contract and the operations flight. Operations is often thought of as the heartbeat of the organization. From maintaining air conditioning to grounds maintenance and paving roads, the operations flight does it all with pride.
56TH CONTRACTING SQUADRON
Mission: Provide superior around the clock acquisition support to the 56th Fighter Wing and it's tenant units and produce mission-ready contingency contracting officers for the U.S. Aerospace Expeditionary Forces.

The 56th Contracting Squadron awards more than $50 million annually in appropriated and non-appropriated funded contracts and manages more than $200 million in contracts supporting the 56th Fighter Wing, the 944th Fighter Wing, Fort Tuthill Air Force Recreational Area, Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field, the 1.7 million acre Barry M. Goldwater Range and other key tenant units. The 56th Contracting Squadron consists of three separate and distinct operational flights: the acquisitions flight A, acquisition flight B, and the plans and programs flight. In addition, this flight also serves as the installation program management office for the 56th Fighter Wing Government Purchase Card Program. The Government Purchase Card Program Office manages 475 cardholders, 100 billing officials and more than 34,000 transactions with expenditures averaging over $20 million annually. The 56th Contracting Squadron also trains, equips and deploys Contingency Contracting Officers worldwide for the U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Forces.

56TH FORCE SUPPORT SQUADRON
Mission: Provide, develop, and maintain programs to ensure personal and professional development and to fulfill individual and family needs of the Luke community. Provide personnel accountability systems and programs to support local mission and higher headquarters' taskings. Provide exceptional combat readiness through quality of life and mission enhancing programs.

The 56th Mission Support Squadron and 56th Services Squadron combined at Luke Air Force Base to form the 56th Force Support Squadron in a ceremony Feb. 26, 2009. The 56FSS provides full array of mission support products and services. Areas of responsibility include military personnel, civilian personnel, education services, Family Support Center, Airman Leadership School, and First Term Airman Center. The 56FSS is also responsible for enhancing quality of life by providing a range of mission supporting recreational, educational, and life sustaining activities. These include officer and enlisted clubs, dining facilities, fitness and bowling centers, library, community and outdoor recreation, youth and child development centers, lodging, mortuary affairs and honor guard programs in support of 93,000 military, civilian, retirees and family members. The squadron's oversight includes exchange and commissary liaison as well as the Fort Tuthill recreation area located in Flagstaff, Ariz.
