Services and Appointments

The 56th Medical Group DOES NOT have emergency services. If you are seeking emergency care (life, limb, or eyesight) call 911 or please proceed to the nearest emergency room (add as hyperlink w/ map of local ERs). 

All Tricare Prime enrollees are required to obtain authorization from their Primary Care Manager before seeking Urgent Care! Please contact 623-856-CARE (2273), including after duty hours. 

The 56th Medical Group has a commitment to its beneficiaries by providing essential services in a timely manner. The Medical Group's leaders are responsible for ensuring the availability of services to meet the needs of our population. Services will either be provided directly or through referral, consultation or contractual arrangement. 

To make an appointment contact our Central Appointments Line at 623-856-CARE (2273). The Central Appointments Line is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., however active duty personnel have priority from 6:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. 

To avoid a potential wait time on our Central Appointments Line visit www.tricareonline.com and register each family member to make your appointments via the web 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

To cancel appointments contact the Central Appointments Line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The time frames within which patient care services will be provided are:
Primary care for acute illness care shall not exceed 24 hours. (Acute illness examples: Fever, pink eye, vomiting/diarrhea, dehydration, ear infection, cough)

Primary care for routine visits shall not exceed 7 days. (Routine visit examples: sore limbs, allergy symptoms, specialty consult requests)

Primary care for a well visit shall not exceed 28 days. (Well visit examples: annual well woman exam, annual adult/child physical)

Specialty care wait times shall be determined by the primary care manager based on the nature of the care required, but shall be no longer than four weeks.

Outpatient Medical Records is located near the Litchfield lobby entrance to
the Clinic, between Optometry and the elevators.

Outpatient Records is open from 0730hrs to 1630 hrs. Outpatient records is closed on weekends, federal holidays and 56th Fighter Wing directed Down Days.

PCSing personnel are no longer authorized to hand-carry their medical records (per the AF Surgeon General) to their new duty assignment. Individuals are required to provide OPR with a copy of their orders before final out processing. The only exception to the no-hand-carry rule, are Flying personnel and individuals being assigned to remote or data masked locations.

The DD 2870 must be completed to request copies of medical records. Patient's must provide positive ID and sponsors (AD or parents) will only be able to request copies of medical records of children under the age of 18yrs.  Sponsors (AD) cannot request copies of spouses or any dependent child over 18 years of age.

The Clinical Laboratory offers a vast variety of diagnostic tests to over 90,000 active duty and TRICARE beneficiaries. The lab is a highly complex working environment where over 17,000 tests for roughly 15,000 patients are performed each month! Our job is to maintain the highest standards while providing the most accurate and cost efficient testing available. We employ cutting edge technology while maintaining the highest degree of customer service and satisfaction!

The Diagnostic Imaging clinic offers a vast variety of imaging studies to
over 90,000 active duty and TRICARE beneficiaries. The DI clinic is a highly complex working environment where over 30,000 imaging studies are completed annually! Our job is to maintain the highest standards while providing the most accurate and cost efficient imaging available. Mission

To prevent disease, disability, morbidity, and death through effective use of population-based public health programs. Conducts epidemiological surveillance and analysis of communicable, environmental, and occupational morbidity and mortality to establish and prioritize strategies for prevention and intervention. Provides programs for both individuals and groups to clearly communicate risks and hazards in the workplace/environment and best practices to safeguard health. Key elements of the Public Health Flight include:
Epidemiological Services, Occupational Health, Force Health Management, Deployment Medicine / Medical Intelligence, Travel Medicine and Food Safety / Facility Sanitation.
 

Bioenvironmental

The Bioenvironmental Engineering office, as a part of the Aerospace Medicine Squadron, is located in (Bldg 810). 

Mission
Bioenvironmental Engineering's (BEE) mission is to magnify Luke AFB's mission effectiveness through fact-based health risk management, resulting in enhanced force protection and productivity. BEE accomplishes this mission by ensuring healthy and safe workplace environments for Luke AFB personnel and their families through evaluation and control of potential chemical, biological, and physical health hazards.

BEE provides industrial hygiene surveillance to industrial work centers at Luke AFB, investigating, documenting, and recommending adequate controls for potential health hazards in the work center. BEE also provides environmental sampling support to base agencies, including monitoring the base drinking water system.

BEE provides radiation protection surveillance and personnel training for workers whose duties involve the use of radioactive materials, microwave, ionizing, radio-frequency and laser radiation. BEE also provides on-site technical expertise during disaster response to protect personnel and the environment.
