VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT THE MEDICAL GROUP

Posted 7/1/2008 Printable Fact Sheet

Volunteers are an integral and valuable component of the 56th Medical Group. A number of opportunities for volunteering exist through-out the clinic. Red Cross Volunteers are always welcome and always needed.

The first step to becoming a Red Cross volunteer is the standard Red Cross orientation. This is available at the 56th Medical Group, and is given when we have a group of three or more interested persons. It lasts approximately two hours.

The largest percentage of the volunteers work in one of the three Pharmacies, where they dispense prescriptions to the customers.

The shifts run 4 to 5 hours. Most areas work Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., depending on the assigned location. There are a limited number of Saturday shifts at the Pharmacy.

We attempt to staff the information desk Monday through Friday. We do not always have volunteers available to accomplish this. We always need MORE volunteers willing to help at this position.

There are other areas of the group that use volunteers. If you have a special interest, we will listen and place you there, if possible. While we try to accommodate your preference, our primary mission is to serve the needs of the 56th Medical Group.

If you are interested in volunteering or need further information, please call (623)856-6994. Our voice mail is retrieved frequently and returned promptly. Please state your name and phone number clearly.
