Colonel ADRIANNE M. KETELSEN

Colonel Ketelsen serves as the 559th Medical Squadron Commander in the 559th Medical Group, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. As the squadron commander, she oversees operations for 310 active duty and civilian personnel across nine flights, enabling 134K outpatient appointments to 25,000 beneficiaries yearly. Colonel Ketelsen leads services and equips 10 clinics to include joint DoD/VA dental care in the delivery of $93M in healthcare. The Squadron provides comprehensive medical and dental care, aerospace physiology training, disaster response, health promotion, and occupational/public health services to nearly 30 mission partners at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph. She supports 1.2K flyers executing 23K sorties per year and drives base safety and security safeguarding 545K gallons of water per day. In addition, Colonel Ketelsen oversees an annual budget of $15M along with plans and programs integral to the operational and support missions for Team Randolph.

 

Colonel Ketelsen commissioned in 2002 through San Diego State University’s Air Force ROTC program as a Distinguished Graduate. She has worked at three of the Air Force’s largest military hospitals as a clinical nurse and has also helped enable the Air Force’s aeromedical evacuation mission as a flight nurse. Additionally, she served two consecutive commanders as the Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, Air Force District of

Washington. Colonel Ketelsen has deployed four times in support of Operations IRAQI and ENDURING FREEDOM.
