The Luke Air Force Base Airman & Family Readiness Center and the Department of Economic Security Arizona Workforce Connection are hosting a job fair 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Club Five Six.

The job fair is open to all active-duty, Reserve and Guard members, families, retirees or any other affiliated personnel with base access, said Majorie Thompson, 56th Force Support Squadron A&FRC community readiness technician.

There will be more than 60 employers at the event.

"A few of the employers are Wells Fargo, Boeing, Department of Revenue, Intel, Edward Jones, Grand Canyon University, Southwest Airlines and Bank of America," said James Knuckles, 56th FSS A&FRC community readiness consultant.

Potential applicants should be prepared prior to attending.

"Remember to bring at least 20 copies of a resumé and letters of reference," Knuckles said. "Dress as you would for an interview, since many of the employers interview on the spot. If on duty, a military uniform will be acceptable."

In addition, the A&FRC will provide on-the-spot resumé review to anyone who wishes to have it, Thompson said.

Both Airmen and family members will benefit from the job fair.

"We have been partnered with the DES for more than 10 years in providing employment to military personnel and their families," Thompson said. "This job fair is important because it also provides Airmen transitioning out of the military the opportunity to get a feel for how the employment process is in the civilian sector."

Knuckles also recommends not bringing children, being professional at all times and planning which employers should be seen first as well as following up with any employers of interest.
