Lightning Technician Program: Expediting the Fight
Staff Sgt. Robert Briones, 62nd Aircraft Maintenance Unit crew chief, and Airman 1st Class Todd Combe, 61st AMU crew chief, inspect an outer mold line on the wing of an F-35A Lightning II aircraft June 4, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Maintenance Airmen conduct OML inspections to track any exterior damage on the aircraft before and after flight; the OML inspection is one of the techniques taught within the Lightning Technician Program. The efforts of LTP cost-effectively modernizes Luke’s F-35 maintenance operations as a whole by creating multi-capable Airmen. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class David C. Busby)
