The 56th Security Forces Squadron played the 56th Maintenance Operations Squadron during the intramural volleyball championship game May 5 at the Balfour Beatty Community Center sand volleyball court.

"It feels good to be back in the championship round," said Dustin Barnes, 56th SFS. "We just need to play our game and don't let the other team mess up our game."

But the 56th MOS didn't make it easy for 56th SFS.

"Our goal is to win with serves," said Susan Franklin, 56th MOS. "That's the best option for us to come out with the victory."

The first game started off well for the 56th MOS leading the game with a 4-0 lead against SFS. But, that quickly changed when SFS answered back with a 5-0 run bringing the score to 5-4 during the first 5 minutes of the match-up. MOS tried to fight back, but SFS came out swinging and won the first game 25-16.

The 2nd game of the intramural volleyball championship was a very close one. SFS came out swinging and was leading the game 14-9. When SFS thought they had clinched the series, MOS fought back and closed the gap of the score to 21-23. But, it wasn't enough to stop SFS from winning the game 25-22 and defending the championship they won last year.

"It feels good to be back-to-back champions," Barnes said. "Hopefully next year we can make it to the championship and make it a three-peat."
