Thunderbirds headline 2013 open house Published Dec. 21, 2012 By 1st Lt. Ryan DeCamp 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The U.S. Air Force Aerial Demonstration Team, the Thunderbirds, will join Luke Air Force Base March 16 and 17 for Luke's biennial open house and air show. Performing alongside the Thunderbirds in the air show lineup thus far include an F-16 close air support demonstration and a Marine Corps AV-8 Harrier demonstration, among others. Previous Luke open houses have averaged more than 100,000 spectators each day, and the base expects the same in 2013. There will be food, games and plenty of attractions to make the event memorable. Numerous ground displays and attractions will also be available for attendees. The air show is open to the public and admission is free.
