Members of the 56th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Services held a fire muster Oct. 12 as part of the National Fire Prevention week. The event featured an obstacle course including having a four-man team fill a barrel with water by transporting water in buckets from the drop tank and throwing it onto the roof so the water run-off from the gutter fills a barrel. Time stops when the barrel overflows. A 50-foot dummy drag, hitting a tire with a sledge hammer repeatedly to move it a specified distance and equipment carry were additional obstacles in the course. Judges consisted of two time keepers and two violation referees. Scoring was based on overall time plus time infractions. The 56th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, Capt. Edmund Spivak, 56th CES EOD Flight commander, Staff Sgt. Jaime Ciciora, 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs broadcaster, Staff Sgt. Zach Skula, and Senior Airman Stephen Alvarez, 56th CES EOD journeymen, placed first.
