PRESS RELEASE - Disturbance on Luke AFB Published April 16, 2012 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- An on-base disturbance involving gunshots occurred on Luke AFB at approximately 10:30 p.m. last night. The alleged gunman is an active-duty Airman assigned to Luke. Local police apprehended the individual, and the suspect is now in custody on base. The incident is not terrorism related, and no one was injured by the gunfire. "We're committed to ensuring the safety of our men and women at Luke," said Brig. Gen. JD Harris, 56th Fighter Wing commander. "Fortunately, our close partnership with off-base law enforcement agencies helped resolve this situation quickly." The Luke Air Force Office of Special Investigations is currently investigating the incident.
