Emergency response traffic, gate closures expected
Luke Air Force Base will conduct an 'Active Shooter' exercise from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 25. Many areas on base including base entry points, may be blocked or closed during these times. People can expect to see emergency vehicles and response aircraft in the area throughout the day.

The exercise is designed to help the Luke community prepare for an 'active shooter' event. An active shooter is defined as an armed person who has used deadly physical force on other persons and continues to do so while having unrestricted access to additional victims.

Retirees and family members on Luke May 25, should expect closures and delays. Procedures for responding during an active shooter event are described on the http://www.luke.af.mil website Active Shooter guide.
