INCREASED AIR ACTIVITY JAN. 28

Luke Air Force Base will host an aerial and academic exercise Friday, Jan. 28. The training will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and includes aircraft from the Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps.

Over 40 jets are scheduled to be involved, including more than 20 that are not assigned to Luke. Some of the aircraft taking part in the training include the F-22 Raptor and F-18 Hornet.

The area around Luke may experience more noise than usual as a result of the increased air activity and types of aircraft involved. The visiting aircraft are scheduled to leave Luke during the day Saturday and Sunday.

The exercise will help train Luke F-16 pilots how to fight against dissimilar aircraft and is a part of regular training operations on base.
