Looking to make 2010 a better year for you and your family? The Airman and Family Readiness Center and Family Advocacy are offering free classes to help people succeed in their relationships and give parents effective tools to help raise their children.

"Education and being proactive are the keys to success," said Valerie Seitz, 56th Medical Group family advocacy program outreach manager. "Luke members should take advantage of these classes because they are free and helpful. Similar classes and workshops off-base would cost hundreds of dollars."

Upcoming classes include Stress Management, Dads 101, Prep, Men's divorce recovery support group and Love Links.

Stress management is an hour long seminar offered bi-monthly for anyone who wants to keep stress at a minimum in their life.

Dads 101 is a full day interactive seminar and training program for new or expectant fathers taught by dads who share experiences and what to expect during pregnancy from beginning to delivery and everything afterward. The next seminar is scheduled for Jan. 25.

Prep is a prevention and relationship program that teaches couples how to communicate in ways to understand each other. It is designed for anyone in a relationship.

The men's divorce recovery support group is scheduled to meet 2:30 through 4:15 p.m. Tuesdays Feb. 2 through April 20 at Bldg. 1150 in Room 1163. It is a place where divorced men can share stories and support each other in a comfortable environment.

Love Links is a one day relationship seminar for couples. The class is designed to enhance marriage by teaching couples how to be active relationship managers and work together to keep their relationship strong and resilient. The next seminar is scheduled for 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Feb. 5 at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.

"People should take these classes to set themselves up for success in their relationships, improve their lives and learn how to manage daily stressors," Mrs. Seitz said.
