$7.1M project brings gates to standards, poses traffic challenges Published April 23, 2009 LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- A multi-million dollar project to bring Luke Air Force Base gates up to standards began in February. Along with other improvements, pop-up barriers are being installed that will provide a nine-second reaction time from the gates to the barriers. Currently, the project is 10 percent complete and is scheduled to be finished in September. Base drivers should be aware of construction areas.
