ITT makes vacationing easy Published Jan. 8, 2009 By Airman 1st Class C.J. Hatch 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- The Information, Tickets and Travel office moved locations recently from building 700 to building 1150 room 1159 across from the elevator. They may have relocated, but it's how they can "relocate" servicemembers that makes their services unique. ITT is a fully accredited travel agency and can book any trip a person can think of from a family vacation to Disneyland to a romantic cruise for two to Alaska. "We book everything," said Roseann Wagner, 56th Services Squadron ITT manager. "There are so many different opportunities for Luke members. All they have to do is stop in and ask." Some of the special deals for military members the ITT office offers include discount tickets to local area attractions like Castles and Coasters, the Arizona Science Center, the Phoenix Zoo, and AMC and Harkins theaters. For those looking to leave the Phoenix area but not travel too far, they also have discounted tickets to many Southern California attractions including Disneyland, Six-Flags Magic Mountain, Knott's Berry Farm and the San Diego Zoo. "Some of the attractions in Southern California are free to military members," Ms. Wagner said. "Disneyland, for a short time, is offering a free three-day park-hopper pass to military members, a $200 value. Military members can also purchase up to five companion tickets at a discounted fair of $94 each. Also Sea World offers free tickets to members and up to three dependents." If a far off destination is what a Thunderbolt desires, then ITT also coordinates with the Armed Forces Vacation Club to provide servicemembers with discounted condominium rentals in more than 80 countries for as little as $329 per unit, per week. "The AFVC is run by retired military members," Ms. Wagner said. "They have great vacations available for a reasonable price in locations like the Bahamas, Europe, the Caribbean, and North and South America." The ITT office, like any travel agency, has a service fee but unlike other agencies ITT has a flat rate of $25. "Why would a person want to pay a fee to an outside agency when it's cheaper here and the money gets returned to the base," Ms. Wagner said. "And now with our new location in the block house we are getting more people in to ask questions." For more information people may stop by the office Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., or call (623) 856-6000.
