HERO fund write check Published June 1, 2007 LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Maj. Gen. Irving Halter, 19th Air Force commander, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, presented a Hero Funds check for $18,819 to Brig. Gen. Tom Jones, 56th Fighter Wing commander. The funds will be used to purchase new furniture in the mission-ready airman dorms, as well as a gazebo area for dorm residents. In addition, almost $10,000extra were approved by 19th AF for quality-of-life improvements in the dorms, 56thMission Support Squadron Airman and Family Readiness Flight and 56th ServicesSquadron Honor Guard.
