The new lodging facility held its official ribbon cutting ceremony October 29, 2015, on Luke Air Force Base, Arizona.

In attendance was the 56th Fighter Wing commander, Brig. Gen. Scott Pleus, his wife Jennifer, Chief Master Sgt. John Mazza, 56th FW command chief, Col. James Pease, Air Education Training Command director, manpower, personnel, and services, Col James Kossler, 56th Mission Support Group commander, Maj. Tonya Mack, 56th Force Support Squadron commander, and Jane Yates, 56th FSS lodging manager.

"One of the first places families come to when they arrive at a new base is the lodging facility. While the TLF we have far and away exceed what some bases have, we have had really nice single family, pet friendly homes, great opportunities so the whole family could move in and you didn't feel restricted. This is just the next step in taking care of families at Luke Air Force Base.

It's the first place they see when they come in and it's the last place they see when they PCS (permanent change of station) off the base. The opportunity to have a world class facility like this is amazing. I want to publically thank the contractors for getting this work done. We watched the absolute record speed at which this facility went from being a dirt field to being the beautiful facility that it is today. This is just a great day for Luke Air Force Base and for our families."

The lodging facility will be open to Luke Airmen and their families mid-November 2015.
