The first pass of the game was thrown short setting the tone for the matchup between the 56th Force Support Squadron and the 56th Equipment Maintenance Squadron flag football teams.

The final score of the game was 32-0 with EMS delivering a sound thrashing to FSS.

FSS moved the ball up the field completing first downs, but EMS turned up the heat and FSS turned over the ball six minutes into the first half. EMS took the lead after FSS failed to defend the red zone from repeated attempts by EMS. There were multiple conversion passes by EMS during the first half, and they were determined to win the game.

"Our main goal was to focus on our receivers," said Joshua Heninger, 56th EMS teammate. "Earlier last week we practiced going over routes, and it definitely helped us gain more yards during the game."

In second half action, FSS managed to get the ball down the field to the 20-yard line with 11 minutes to go. On the 4th down FSS threw a pass, which was batted down by an EMS defender. EMS took possession of the ball on their 20-yard line and moved it down the field to score.

From short passes to running plays, they were able to gain positive yards and score multiple times, bringing the score to 32-0 with three minutes left in play. FSS played with their heart for the rest of the game. EMS stopped FSS from completing passes and forced them to turn over the ball using strategies that won them the game.

FSS hasn't given up and is looking to get back on grind mode to recover and bounce back next game.

"It's always hard to play with different people," said Kody Charleston, 56th FSS readiness and mortuary technician. "But we still come out here and support our squadron. In my opinion, we played a good zone defense. Everybody was listening and we did well out there. We didn't win, but at the end of the day, I'm proud of us. I know we will do better in the next game."
