The first pass of the game was thrown short, setting the tone for the 56th Fighter Wing Staff Agencies flag football team as they took on the 56th Communications Squadron team.

The final score of the game was 25-0 with CS defeating FWSA.

As the FWSA gained first downs and got closer to the end zone, CS defended harder, resulting in the first interception of the game just five minutes in. CS pulled ahead in the first half with a score of 19-0.

For the rest of the first half, FWSA failed to defend the end zone from repeated attempts from CS. There were multiple deep passes by CS during the first half, and they were determined to win the game via shutout.

"We knew they were shorthanded," said Kristoffer Scott, CS teammate. "We used that to our advantage and ran deep routes. Also, we kept a fast-paced offense to tire them out. "

As the second half began, FWSA managed to get the ball down the field to first and goal at the 20-yard line. They threw a pass which was intercepted by a CS defender, who ran the ball back for about 20 yards before being stopped. With 11 minutes to go, CS scored again, bringing the score to 25-0.

FWSA gave all they had for the rest of the game. From double-covering defenders to man-on-man defense, they were able to stop CS from gaining positive yards and forced them to turn over the ball multiple times. Despite those strategies, CS kept them from scoring. With less than two weeks of intramural football left, all teams are on grind mode to make it to the playoffs, including FWSA.

"If we fix the mistakes we had today, we will overcome and make the playoffs" said Allen Dismuke, 56th FWSA teammate. "Small touch-ups here and there and we should be able to win the next game."
