The 56th Civil Engineer Squadron flag football team achieved a victory against the 56th Contracting Squadron Sept. 26 at the Luke Air Force Base Bryant Fitness Center football field.

Both teams began strong as they wrestled for yardage and the first touchdown. After a long battle the 56th CONS took the first touchdown, but was unable to make the extra point.

After a turnover, CES was able to score bringing the score to 7-6 with 10 minutes left in the half.

As time ticked down on the clock, CES ran a streak of successful plays, ending the half with a lead of 15-6.

CES continued their dominance through the second half. CONS switched their defense to manto- man, but it proved ineffective against the CES fast-moving offense.

CES brought the score to 26-6 with 15 minutes left in the second half. CONS tried to rush the ball down the field, but couldn't get past the defense. CES took advantage of CONS mistakes and scored once again, bringing the final score to 33-6.

"We performed quick passes to move the ball forward," said Ryan Miller, 56th CES firefighter. "Open space was the key for this victory."
