Luke Command Chief Launches General’s Jet
U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Jason Shaffer (left), 56th Fighter Wing command chief, accompanied by Chief Master Sgt. Derrick Chesley (center), 944th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron wing weapons manager, receives feedback from Tech. Sgt. Raul Guzman (right), 56th Maintenance Group F-35 qauality assurance inspector, after launching a jet on the flightline, July 16, 2025, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Shaffer, a defender by trade, learned how to properly launch a jet to show Airmen that regardless of their career stage, they can develop multicapable skillsets. During training, crew chiefs are closely graded on their technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform under pressure, ensuring they meet the high standards required for maintaining and launching aircraft.
