Remembering a fallen warrior
Rev. Dr. George Ray, a Vietnam War veteran, listens intently to the scripture being read by Chaplain (Capt.) Loren Raiford at the funeral ceremony for Lt. Col Earl P. Hopper April 3 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. Colonel Hopper died in 1968 after being shot down in his F-4 Phantom while patrolling the North Vietnamese-Laotian border during the Vietnam War. His remains were recovered from a mountain in Laos and returned to his family. (U.S. Air Force photo/Photos by Tech. Sgt. Raheem Moore)
