Brig. Gen. Tom Jones, 56th Fighter Wing commander, was recognized as an honorary chief master sergeant May 27 in which the honor was bestowed upon him by Chief Master Sgt. (ret) Geno Piccoli. The term “Jeep” is traditionally used by the military to refer to an individual who is junior or the newest. The most recently promoted chief is usually addressed by his/her peers as "Jeep" until a more junior chief is promoted. (U.S. Air Force photo by SrA Gustavo Gonzalez)
