BMGR Flora

The Elephant Tree's small fruit, which is mostly a seed enveloped in a thin mesocarp, is an important Winter food source for birds including the Gray Vireo. Elephant Trees occur at the Mohawk Mountains of the Barry M. Goldwater Range-East in southwestern Arizona.
