Phoenix Leaders Join 56th Fighter Wing for Simulated Deployment
U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Angela Ruiz, 56th Public Affairs chief of community relations, helps Elizabeth Canchola, 310th Fighter Squadron honorary commander, put on a helmet, Jan. 22, 2026, at Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field, Arizona. HCCs took part in a simulated deployment, which replicated aspects of a deployed environment, allowing honorary commanders to experience the pace and structure of mission operations. Throughout the simulation, HCCs took part in briefings, operational activities, and direct engagement engaged directly with Airmen across the base.
