Phoenix Leaders Join 56th Fighter Wing for Simulated Deployment
Akoni Mirafuentes, 56th Operations Support Squadron aircrew flight equipment continuation instructor, demonstrates the use of a signal mirror for 56th Fighter Wing honorary commanders, Jan. 22, 2026, at the Barry M. Goldwater Range, Arizona. The demonstration focused on survival, evasion, resistance, and escape skills required for pilots to communicate with overhead aircraft and survive in remote environments. These survival disciplines ensure pilots remain recoverable, directly supporting the 56th FW’s ability to project persistent airpower.
