The 127th Fighter Wing, Michigan Air National Guard, in 1951 federalized and was assigned to Luke as the 127th Pilot Training Wing. The base was equipped at the time with the AT-6 Texan, F-51 Mustang, and F-84 Thunderjet aircraft.
