Maj. Jeffrey “Oz” Ausborn, 41, was among nine Airmen killed when a shooter opened fire in the Kabul International Airport April 27, 2011 in Afghanistan. Ausborn voluntarily deployed for a one-year assignment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom training Afghan pilots to become aircrew members for the C-27 Spartan aircraft. As a senior pilot, Ausborn logged more than 2,300 hours in both airlift and trainer aircraft, to include the T-37B, T-44, C-130E, T-6A, T-1A and C-27. (Courtesy photo)
