54th Fighter Group

The 54th Fighter Group is the United States Air Force premier F-16 training organization. This selectively manned unit conducts formal graduate level F-16 initial, re-qualification, senior officer, and instructor training for Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces, United States Air Forces in Europe, Air Force Materiel Command, Air Force Reserve Command, and the Air National Guard. The group's 1020 Airmen and contractors train 120 F-16 pilots, 200 F-16 crew chiefs, and 20 flight surgeons per year at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. As Air Education and Training Command's largest geographically separated unit, the 54th Fighter Group is comprised of three fighter squadrons, two maintenance squadrons, an operations support squadron, a contract maintenance AMU, and is augmented by an active associate Air Force Reserve detachment and Airmen from one partner nations. The group's award-winning team implement an $89-million, 10 thousand sortie annual flight operations program using a $2.5-billion, 85-aircraft fleet of front-line fighter aircraft. Additionally, the 54th Fighter Group maintains several state-of-the-art flight training facilities, including operating the world's most advanced networked flight simulation center.
