Luke Air Force Base Fourth of July Flyovers Published June 27, 2007 56th Fighter Wing Public Affairs LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- Luke Air Force Base will participate in Independence Day observations throughout the valley with F-16 flyovers supporting various community events July 3 and 4. Flyovers July 3 will begin at approximately 7 p.m. with the Lake Pleasant celebration, then onto Anthem before finishing up over the Phoenix International Raceway for Avondale's Fireworks Festival 2007. July 4 flyovers will begin at 7 p.m. with two simultaneous two-ship formations around the metropolitan area. One formation will cover Glendale, Surprise, Goodyear, and Litchfield Park. The second formation will cover the Peoria, Phoenix, and Tolleson. Finally, the evening will culminate with a flight over the base for Luke's 4th of July celebration. All flyovers should be completed by 7:45 p.m. During these times, the public should not be alarmed if they observe F-16 aircraft flying over their area or out of the normal flight path for Luke jets.
