When the gates open for Luke Days 2026, visitors will witness more than aerial demonstrations. The event offers a look at how innovation across the Air Force is shaping the future of combat airpower.

Luke Air Force Base plays a central role in that effort. As one of the Air Force’s premier fighter training installations, Luke AFB trains lethal, combat-ready forces that are defending the homeland and projecting power in support of U.S. interests. The 56th Fighter wing constantly works on refining   the tactics, training, and operational concepts that define modern airpower.

Innovation at Luke extends far beyond the flightline. Across the installation, Airmen and civilians continuously improve how pilots are trained, how aircraft are maintained, and how combat capability is generated. These efforts ensure that the force remains ready to meet the demands of an evolving security environment.

As one of the Air Force’s largest fighter training bases and home to international F-35 partners, Luke provides a unique environment where new ideas, advanced aircraft, and allied integration come together. The result is a training ecosystem that helps shape how fifth-generation airpower is employed around the world.

Many of those capabilities will be visible during Luke Days. Aircraft demonstrations will showcase the performance and precision of modern fighter aircraft, while static displays and exhibits will highlight the technology, teamwork, and innovation required to sustain combat operations.

“Luke’s mission is to train the world’s best fighter pilots and combat-ready Airmen,” said Brig. Gen. Dave Berkland, commander of the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base. “Luke Days gives the community a chance to see the discipline, precision and teamwork that make that mission possible every day.”

Luke Days will also include opportunities for students and families to engage with science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs that reflect the skills needed for the next generation of Airmen.

Innovation across the Department of the Air Force is driven by Airmen who adapt, refine, and improve the tools and tactics required to succeed in modern conflict. At Luke Air Force Base, that innovation is part of the daily mission.

For one weekend, the community will have an opportunity to see how that work translates into the combat airpower that protects the nation and its allies.
