BMGR Fauna
Turkey Vultures occur year-round at the Barry M. Goldwater Range-East in southwest Arizona, and are most numerous during Spring and Fall migration. 56 RMO contractors remove carrion (dead animals) from State Road 85 between Gila Bend and Ajo, with the intent of reducing the amount of food available for Turkey Vultures in the area and, thus, reducing the number of Turkey Vultures in the flight-lines of aircraft operating at the Range.
