BMGR Resource Management
Modified and artificial water catchment sites across the Sonoran Desert, including at the Barry M. Goldwater Range-East, are intended to provide year-round water for desert wildlife. At some sites a rock wall, called a gabion, is built perpendicular to the flow of water and upstream of the drinker or tinaja in order to filter out large debris. In addition, motion-triggered cameras provide detailed data on the wildlife that visit this site.
