F-35s gas up on fly
F-16 Fighting Falcons from 308th Fighter Squadron line up at the North End of Runway Tuesday at Luke Air Force Base as part of a 12-jet launch that took place to move the jets to their new home at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico. The 308th FS and aircraft maintenance unit officially stood down at Luke June 12 after 73 years of service. The Emerald Knight F-16s flew to Holloman where they will become the 314th FS while keeping the same mission – ‘To provide the finest single-seat, single-engine F-16 fighter pilots for the combat Air Forces and produce top quality F-16 instructor pilots.
