The Jerome Grand Hotel was once known as the United Verde Hospital until it was bought by the Phelps Dodge Mining Corporation. Built in 1926, it served as the town's hospital playing host to injured miners, new births, a psychiatric ward and for the some, is the last place they would see alive. (Photo by SSgt Marcy Copeland)
