Royal Australian Air Force departs Luke after completing training objectives
U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Tom Hayes, 61st Fighter Squadron commander, speaks at a Royal Australian Air Force Mateship farewell event, Oct. 30, 2020, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Since 2015, 37 RAAF pilots completed the 56th Fighter Wing-led F-35A Lightning II operational conversion course. The successful conclusion of the training program equipped the RAAF with 21 instructors who will enable the service to begin the country’s first Australia-based operational conversion course in 2021.
