56 CONS simulates austere environment to enhance readiness

Airmen from the 56th Contracting Squadron participate in a Contingency Contracting Officer exercise June 9, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. During the three-day exercise, Airmen worked through various contracting scenarios in a simulated deployed environment to enhance their readiness capability for conducting overseas operations. The 56th CONS awards more than $50 million annually in appropriated and non-appropriated funded contracts and manages more than $200 million in contracts supporting the 56th Fighter Wing; it also trains, equips and deploys Contingency Contracting officers worldwide for U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Forces.
