Luke AFB youth experience a child-friendly deployment during Operation K.I.D.S.
A military child receives a pretend common access card and a copy of his orders to deploy to a fictional location during Operation Kids Investigating Deployment Services, Nov. 13, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Operation K.I.D.S. is an event organized by the Airman and Family Readiness Center as an educational experience to help Luke’s youth understand what is involved in deployment preparation and execution. The A&FRC takes care of Airmen and their families by providing educational resources and holding events such as Operation K.I.D.S., which gives children a better understanding of their parents’ sacrifice and dedication, and allows a dialog within families about deployments.
