Luke AFB youth experience a child-friendly deployment during Operation K.I.D.S.
A military child receives a finance briefing as part of Operation Kids Investigating Deployment Services Nov. 13, 2021, at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Operation K.I.D.S. is an event that included a mock pre-deployment line with visits to finance, medical, the American Red Cross, key spouse and chapel personnel, as an imitation of what their parents experience prior to deploying. The Airman and Family Readiness Center takes care of Airmen and their families by providing educational resources and holding events such as Operation K.I.D.S., which gives children a better understanding of their parents’ sacrifice and dedication, and allows a dialog within families about deployments.
