  • Luke Days moves to March 17-18, Welcomes U.S. Navy Blue Angels

    The 56th Fighter Wing has moved Luke Days to March 17-18, 2018 in order to ensure the public a more robust and dynamic experience. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Gunfighters complete first F-35 transport

    An F-35A Lightning II belonging to Luke AFB, Ariz. was moved for repairs after being grounded here for the past year. The aircraft was moved to the F-35 Depot at Hill AFB, Utah, with the help of the 366th Equipment Maintenance Squadron crash and recovery team.

    The 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona, cancelled local flying operations today for F-35A Lightning II aircraft due to a series of five incidents in which pilots have experienced hypoxia-like symptoms.

  • F-35: Heritage Flight Training and Certification Course 2017

    The heritage flight program has flown aircraft during open houses and airshows across the country. This year is the second in which the F-35 Lightning II has participated in the heritage program. From Feb. 9 to Feb. 12 the F-35 flew in formations with several aircraft including the F-22 Raptor, A-10 Thunderbolt, F-16 Fighting Falcon, P-38 Lightning and P-51 Mustangs during the Heritage Flight Training and Certification Course at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. The purpose of this course was to prepare aircraft teams for airshows they are scheduled to travel to throughout 2017.
