  • Who’s afraid of a little blood?

I have been in the Air Force for 22 years and have been a medical laboratory technician since the beginning of my career. The medical or clinical laboratory is where specimens are tested to provide information to medical providers who directly assist in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease in patients. After graduating basic training
  • Pursue education for career’s sake

Everyone knows education can be a good bullet on an enlisted performance report, but few know the true value of an education in regard to a military career. The pursuit of an education can be just as valuable as the degree acquired at the end. The knowledge acquired in the pursuit of an education can shape the way one does business. The piece of

"You're both in the military? When do you plan to get out?"When I meet someone new, these are common questions I hear. As someone who has been in the military for 13 years and married to a fellow Airman for 12 of those 13 years of service, my marriage has been a big part of my military career. When I look at recent Air Force military demographics,

  • AF core values bonds, unifies us

Integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do. The Air Force core values are much more than minimum standards. They remind us what it takes to get the mission done. They inspire us to do our very best at all times. They are the common bond among all comrades in arms, and they are the glue that unifies the force and ties us to
  • Trainee breaks 90 percent, never looks back

"Lee, get off my track!" the instructor yelled. The time clock showed that 21 minutes had passed. Everyone in my flight was finished with the mile-and-a-half run except me. I didn't finish. Before that we had been mock tested on the sit-up and pushup portion of the test. I performed six sit-ups and zero pushups -- zero! I could not believe I was
